Under Bridge Spicy Crab Restaurant Review

A trip to Hong Kong is exciting for the sites, the shopping, and the food! One particular restaurant that has enjoyed increasing popularity is “Under Bridge Spicy Crab.” Made famous after it’s stint on Anthony Bourdain’s television show, No Reservations, the restaurant is known for it’s incredible typhoon chili crab which Chef Bourdain himself said is out of this world.
To get to “Under Bridge Spicy Crab”, you will have to go to Causeway Bay. The address of the restaurant puts it on Lockhart Road in Wan Chai, but the truth is that it is much closer to Causeway Bay than the center of Wan Chai (which is where the MTR stops). Despite the change in district, the road name does not change, so you simply have to head for the Causeway Bay MTR stop and walk towards Wan Chai. You’ll come across it soon enough. The exact address is 405 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, China.
Once found, enter the restaurant and ask for a waitress. If you’re lucky, the waitress will speak a little English. If not, you may have to survive on pointing to the dishes on the menu. However, some have reported that waitresses borrow a man from a nearby shop to act as translator. This is truly lucky as you get to know what everything is.
Make sure to order the chili crab, as this is the main attraction. This crab is covered with spicy garlic and herbs. It is tender, juicy, and tastes amazing! However, the crab alone won’t fill you, unless you’re all by yourself or order several for your group. So be sure to try some other things as well. The seafood dishes at the restaurant are excellent so choose your favorite seafood from the menu, and be ready for a treat. Be sure to pair the meal with some fried rice and tea to make it traditional.
The restaurant’s price range is between to for a full meal. Though some consider this pricey, it is more than worth it! The food may be like no other you will try any where else, and it’s absolutely delicious. When you think about it, the price range is not a bad deal at all for a famous restaurant.
There are plenty of other noteworthy restaurants in Hong Kong. Be sure to get your fill of dimsum, noodles, roasted goose, roasted duck, spring rolls, rice bowls, and meat dishes. Look up the other restaurants on Anthony Bourdain’s list of must-visit places, or do your own research on other restaurants people recommend.
If you can’t take a vacation to another country, why not try some of the country’s log cabin resorts? It’s a great way to see other parts of the country and small log homes always make cozy vacation spots!
